Welcome to Science Class!
Hello! My name is Lisa Bugenske, part of the Beachwood High School's science department, with four years under my belt. Science is my absolute favorite class to teach, so I am looking forward to a great year. I will be teaching the AP Environmental Science, AP Physics I, and the Honors Robotics course. My family moved from Shanghai 5 years ago after spending five exciting years there. While there, I taught middle school science at the Shanghai American School -- the same school my own kids attended. In addition to teaching, I have also worn the “hats” of Environmental Engineer and Director of a non-profit youth program supporting students with at-risk factors in their lives.
My family includes my husband, Matt, and my two daughters, Abbey (18) and Elizabeth (15). Besides the time spent in China, we have lived in the Cleveland area for about 17 years. We love it here and are really glad to be back. When I'm not teaching, I love to hike and enjoy nature, run, read and do projects around the house. I am extremely excited to be working at Beachwood with amazing students, parents, teachers, and administrators. I plan to have a fun-filled and challenging year of science learning and hope that I can make science your favorite subject! Interesting Stuff:Tagging 10 Types of Plagiarism Tips to Be Successful
